Yep... the title of this post was also the title of an intriguing sketch that was part of this past week's Innovate '08 conference at Granger Community Church. The above picture (taken during the sketch) helps set-up the story line... in the middle of a church committee meeting a member runs into the conference room yelling, "The church building is on fire!" He's declared out-of-order by the committee's chairman, and told that such information has to be brought forward as part of new business.The meeting continues, the smoke gets thicker, people start to pass out... I'm guessing you see where the sketch was headed.
Everyone in the audience at Innovate laughed as the sketch concluded, but it was a nervous laughter... as if the sketch hit a bit too close to home for too many of us. I'm challenged by the wake-up call that Innovate presented us: It's time to stop talking and start doing.
